1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Pakt. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Because Pakt uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks, additional platform or jurisdiction-specific requirements may apply. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with applicable law and App Store rules in your region.
2. Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
- You may optionally provide a phone number so Pakt can help identify which of your contacts already use the app.
- You may optionally enter a partner invite code during sign up if another user has shared one with you.
- You may not create more than one account or create an account on behalf of another person without consent.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for unlawful purposes.
- Harass, bully, or abuse other users.
- Attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems.
- Interfere with infrastructure or disrupt service availability.
- Send spam or unsolicited communications.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app.
- Create fake accounts or misrepresent your identity.
4. Pakt Features and Screen Time
- Pakt lets users create solo pakts and, where available in the app, invite or join shared accountability experiences with other users.
- You may optionally choose an accountability partner or invite another person to participate in certain paid or social features, depending on the plan and flow shown in the app.
- A pakt violation is recorded when Apple's frameworks report that a restricted app was opened.
- We are not responsible for false positives, missed detections, or platform-level failures outside our control.
- Bypassing restrictions through revoking permissions, changing device settings, deleting the app, or using another device undermines the intended accountability model of the service.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
- Pakt offers optional paid subscriptions on monthly or yearly billing cycles.
- The yearly subscription may include additional participation benefits, such as an extra partner seat, if that offering is shown in the app at the time of purchase.
- All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Any free trial, introductory offer, pricing, or seat-related feature is controlled by the terms shown in the app and in App Store purchase screens at the time of checkout.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its App Store policies.
- Subscription prices may change with notice.
6. User Content
- You retain ownership of content you submit, such as pakt titles and display names.
- You grant Pakt a limited, non-exclusive license to display and use that content to operate the service.
- You are responsible for submitted content and should not include other people's personal information in content you submit through the service.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse other users, or attempt to manipulate or exploit the service.
You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time. If the in-app delete account feature is available in your version of Pakt, you may use it from your account settings. Data handling after account deletion is governed by the Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
- We do not guarantee that app blocking will be effective 100 percent of the time.
- We do not guarantee indefinite preservation of pakt data.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pakt is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the app.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction from which Pakt is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless a different rule is required by applicable consumer law.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we may notify users through an in-app notice or push notification. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
